Our Commitment
Community Real Estate Services is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. WCAG 2.1 AA defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
1communityre.com is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard, primarily due to third-party tools embedded on the Site (see Known Limitations below).
Measures We Take
We take the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Include accessibility as part of our internal review process.
- Test the Site against WCAG 2.1 AA standards on a regular schedule using multiple automated tools: accessScan, WAVE (WebAIM), and axe DevTools.
- Manually test interactive components with keyboard navigation and screen-reader expectations in mind.
- Provide visible focus indicators on all interactive elements.
- Use semantic HTML landmarks, sufficient color contrast, and descriptive alternative text for images.
- Provide skip-to-content links and proper ARIA labels for icon-only buttons.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some areas of the Site may not yet be fully accessible:
- Third-party IDX widget — our property search and listing display is powered by Optima Express IDX. While we have applied accessibility patches over the widget, some interactive elements (dropdowns, dynamic filters) may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We are actively working with the vendor to resolve these issues.
- Embedded chat widget — the Chatwoot live chat tool is a third-party iframe; its internal accessibility is governed by Chatwoot.
- Map widgets — interactive map tiles are provided by Mapbox / OpenStreetMap. Map content is supplemented by text descriptions and address listings.
If you encounter any other accessibility barrier, please contact us — we will work to address it.
